Politics is like football. The teams that win trophies are not always the ones with the biggest individual stars, but the ones with the best structure, unity, and endurance.
As Oyo State APC prepares for the next electoral cycle, we must decide what kind of political team we want to build — one that depends on a single figure, or one that wins through collective strength.

Spain: A Model of Teamwork and Resilience
Spain’s golden era of football was not built around one player. It was built on teamwork, discipline, clear roles, and belief in the system.
Every department worked in sync — defense, midfield, and attack. Even when they conceded, they did not panic. They trusted their process, kept possession, and wore down opponents through patience and unity.
That is resilience: staying calm under pressure and winning together.

Argentina: The Risk of One-Man Reliance
For many years, Argentina’s approach was “give the ball to the superstar and hope.” While it produced moments of brilliance, it also created inconsistency, pressure, and fragility.
When a team depends on one person, the entire structure becomes vulnerable. If that person is neutralized, injured, or absent, the team struggles to function. That is not a sustainable model for long-term success.

THE LESSON FOR OYO STATE APC
Oyo State is too large, too diverse, and faces too many challenges for “one-man show” politics.
To win and to govern effectively, Oyo APC must adopt the *Spain model:

1. Teamwork
From party leadership, stakeholders, LG structures, youth and women groups, to professionals and diaspora — everyone must play their position. Elections and governance are team sports. No one wins alone.

2. Resilience
The road ahead will include criticism, propaganda, and tough contests. A resilient party does not scatter. It stays united, stays strategic, and keeps pushing forward.

3. System Over Personality
Institutions and structures must be stronger than individuals. When the system works, leadership thrives. When the system is weak, even the best leader cannot succeed alone.

Governments are not won by slogans or by placing all hope on one individual. They are won by parties that function like Spain — calm under pressure, united in purpose, and stronger together.

One Deep Root. Many Branches. Many Fruits.
That is the philosophy we must embrace. Depth, structure, and shared responsibility.

If Oyo State APC plays as a team, we will not only win elections — we will build a government that truly serves the people of Oyo State.

The ball is in our court. Let us play like Spain.
