APC Youths Give Debo Ogundoyin 48-Hour Ultimatum Over Allegations Against Florence Ajimobi
The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress Youth Wing has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, demanding a retraction and public apology over allegations linking former First Lady and Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria, Florence Ajimobi, to an alleged plot to destabilise the state government.
In a strongly worded statement released by the Office of the State APC Youth Leader and cited by InsideOut Media Hub, the youth leader described the allegations as false, baseless, and politically motivated, insisting that no such meeting as claimed by the Speaker ever held.
The youth wing maintained that at no point was Ajimobi involved in any act of inducement or conspiracy, stressing that the claims were mere fabrications aimed at tarnishing her reputation.
“It is shocking that a public office holder of such standing would promote unverified claims capable of misleading the public and heating the polity,” the statement read.
The group further eulogised Ajimobi, describing her as a woman of proven integrity, whose time as First Lady was marked by impactful social initiatives, women empowerment programmes, and a commitment to public service.
They warned that failure by the Speaker to retract the statement and tender an unreserved apology within 48 hours would prompt the group to explore all lawful and democratic means to seek redress.
The development adds a new dimension to the ongoing political tension in Oyo State, as narratives continue to clash over alleged plots and counterclaims within the state’s political space.
As the deadline approaches, attention now turns to the response, if any, from the Speaker.
