The Barrister Sharafadeen Alli (BSA) political support group in Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State has declared its readiness to mobilise overwhelming support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The statement as sighted by InsideOut Media Hub jointly issued by the Ona Ara Coordinator, Hon. Oyedeji Ifeoluwa, and co signed by Hon. Babatunde Morenikeji, the group said the people of the local government were politically conscious and determined to support a candidate capable of delivering meaningful development and equitable dividends of democracy.
According to the group, residents of Ona Ara are dissatisfied with what it described as the persistent infrastructure deficit and neglect of grassroots communities under the current administration in Oyo State.
Hon. Ifeoluwa specifically cited the Ariyo to Odeyale road, which he alleged had been abandoned, while also raising concerns over reported structural deterioration along the Olorunsogo to Ariyo road.
“We have seen what the current administration in Oyo State can do. The road from Ariyo to Odeyale has been completely abandoned, and that stands as practically the only project this administration has shown to Ona Ara for the past eight years,” he stated.
He added that the group was confident that the people of Ona Ara would use their votes in 2027 to demand a new direction for the state. “We trust our people in Ona Ara. In 2027, we will vote massively for Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli to bring an end to developmental stagnation,” Ifeoluwa said.
The BSA group also commended recent remarks attributed to the Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, concerning the administration of the state, describing the comments as a bold intervention in the interest of good governance.
According to Ifeoluwa, the traditional title holder’s position demonstrated growing concerns about the direction of governance in the state.
The group further highlighted Senator Alli’s extensive public service record as one of the major reasons it believes he is adequately prepared to govern Oyo State.
It recalled his tenure as Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government Area, his service as Secretary to the Oyo State Government, his leadership of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, and his current role as Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District.
The group described these experiences as evidence of Alli’s administrative competence, legislative exposure and capacity to provide effective leadership at the state level.
The Ona Ara BSA Coordinator therefore called on residents, stakeholders and political supporters across the local government to unite and mobilise for the APC candidate ahead of the 2027 election.
The group maintained that its objective is to secure a decisive victory for Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli while ensuring that the people of Oyo State enjoy what it described as genuine and equitable dividends of democracy.
