House of Assembly hopeful for Yewa North Constituency 1, Hon. Adewunmi Oluwafemi Akinlawon, has suspended his birthday celebration originally slated for December 1, 2025, opting instead to dedicate the day to prayer, reflection, and humanitarian appeals for a safer Ogun State and Nigeria at large.

Akinlawon said the current state of insecurity across the country; kidnappings, bandit attacks, and other violent crimes, makes it morally inappropriate to engage in social festivities while many families mourn or struggle with fear and uncertainty.

He extended heartfelt sympathies to victims of kidnappers and bandits, praying for comfort, healing and swift rescue for those still in captivity.

In his statement, Akinlawon praised security operatives for their courage and sacrifices, acknowledging the risks they face daily to keep communities safe. He urged them to remain committed, professional, and proactive, while calling on government and community stakeholders to continue supporting security agencies to close existing gaps.

*Champion of Community Growth*

Adewunmi Oluwafemi Akinlawon is widely regarded as one of the rising voices of progress in Yewa North. A devoted son of the soil, he has built a reputation for grassroots engagement, youth empowerment, educational support initiatives, and a strong passion for inclusive development.

With experience in community mobilization, strategic planning, and public service, Akinlawon’s vision for Yewa North Constituency 1 centres on better infrastructure, improved security systems, stronger educational opportunities, agricultural empowerment, and transparent leadership driven by the people’s needs.

*Commitment to Responsible Leadership*

According to him, prioritizing humanity over personal celebrations is a small but symbolic step toward the kind of leadership Yewa North deserves one that feels the pulse of the people and responds with empathy, action, and sincerity.

“Our people are going through tough times. This is not the season for fanfare. It is a time to pray, unite, and strengthen our commitment to building a safer and better society,” he said.

As the 2027 elections approach, Akinlawon reiterated his resolve to offer responsive, accountable, and people-focused representation, assuring the good people of Yewa North Constituency 1 that their wellbeing and progress will remain at the core of his aspirations.
