Former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has been remembered as a visionary leader whose legacy of progressive governance continues to inspire generations, as tributes poured in on the anniversary of his passing.
In a commemorative message, Hon. Bimbo Kolade, Federal Commissioner representing Oyo State at the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and President of the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), described the late Ajimobi as a pathfinder, pacesetter, and patriot whose contributions to the development of Oyo State remain enduring.
Kolade said Ajimobi’s administration was distinguished by courage, discipline, and a clear vision for transformation, noting that the late governor introduced strategic reforms and infrastructural development initiatives that laid a solid foundation for the state’s progress.
According to him, Ajimobi’s impact extended beyond governance, as he served as a mentor and political leader who nurtured talents, inspired confidence, and demonstrated that leadership is fundamentally about service, sacrifice, and positive impact.
He stated that despite the passage of time since Ajimobi’s transition, the former governor’s achievements and leadership principles continue to resonate among the people of Oyo State and beyond.
Kolade emphasized that Ajimobi’s life remains a testament to the fact that true leadership is measured not by the years spent in office but by the lasting positive change left behind.
While praying for the repose of the late statesman’s soul, he urged residents and political associates to continue drawing inspiration from Ajimobi’s vision and commitment to public service.
