A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder in Ogun State, Prince Fatai Adesegun, has mobilised party members and community leaders in Ijebu North Local Government Area to drum up grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adesegun, a strong supporter of Senator Adeola, made this known during an annual end-of-year engagement programme held in Ijebu North, which attracted over 2,000 representatives drawn from political, religious and traditional groups across the local government.

The gathering brought together Baales, religious leaders from Muslim and Christian communities, market leaders (Iyalojas), artisans, youth groups and community development associations, all aimed at fostering unity and political mobilisation at the grassroots.
Speaking at the event, Adesegun said the programme was part of his yearly commitment as a son of the soil to give back to party members and community leaders while also using the platform to sensitise the people ahead of the 2027 elections.
“This is an annual programme where I return home to show appreciation to our party members and community leaders. We have representatives of all groups here today to demonstrate unity and love as we prepare for a new year,” he said.

He explained that the event also served as a political sensitisation forum to mobilise voters in Ijebu North, which he described as a major electoral bloc in Ogun State.
“We are using this programme to sensitise our people that the time is near. Ijebu North is one of the key determinants of elections in Ogun State, and we must come together to prepare ahead of 2027,” Adesegun noted.
The APC chieftain said prayers were also offered for President Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun, calling for peaceful completion of the governor’s tenure and a smooth transition.
“We prayed for our Governor, who has started well, to end well and hand over peacefully to the next person,” he added.
Adesegun also used the occasion to canvass support for Senator Olamilekan Adeola, urging residents to encourage him to contest the Ogun governorship seat in 2027, even though the senator has not formally declared interest.
According to him, Senator Adeola has made significant developmental impacts in Ijebu North through projects such as roads, schools, hospitals and electricity transformers.

In his remarks, former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Segun Adesegun, commended Prince Fatai Adesegun for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.
“This gesture has put smiles on the faces of our people at this festive season. It shows true leadership and concern for the welfare of the grassroots,” he said.
Engr. Adesegun urged other well-meaning individuals to emulate the gesture and continue supporting community development in Ijebu North.
Other leaders in attendance also lauded the donor for his consistency and commitment to the welfare of the people, offering prayers for continued peace and development in Ogun State.
