The outreach, aimed at promoting healthier communities and improving access to essential healthcare services, provided participants with free medical examinations, consultations and medications, while addressing common health concerns among residents.

The exercise featured a team of experienced medical professionals who conducted a wide range of health screenings, including urinalysis, blood sugar tests, dental examinations, eye tests, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments, general health evaluations and medical consultations.

Beneficiaries diagnosed with medical conditions received prescribed medications at no cost, while those with vision challenges were also provided with free eyeglasses based on professional recommendations.

Speaking with InsideOut Media Hub, one of the beneficiaries commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that relieved many residents of the financial burden associated with routine medical examinations.

According to Adetayo Azeez one of the participants, the comprehensive tests and consultations received during the outreach would ordinarily have cost several thousands of naira at private medical facilities, making them unaffordable for many low income earners.

“I want to thank the City Boy Movement for this programme. A few days ago, I made enquiries about the cost of these medical tests, and I discovered they would have cost me several thousands of naira, which I could not afford. Today, everything was done completely free, including the tests, consultations and medications. I am truly grateful,” the beneficiary said.

Speaking with journalists at the event, the Deputy State Director of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, Dr. Titilope Gbadamosi, said the programme was organised to bring quality healthcare closer to the people, particularly those who may be unable to afford the rising cost of medical services.

She noted that good health remains the foundation of a productive society, adding that the outreach was designed to provide relief, restore hope and encourage residents to pay greater attention to their health. “This medical outreach is our own way of giving back to the people and supporting the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We understand that many families are facing economic challenges, making it difficult to access quality healthcare. Through this initiative, we want our people to know that they are not forgotten. We are committed to bringing hope, relief and essential healthcare services closer to the grassroots,” she said.

Dr. Gbadamosi further assured residents that the City Boy Movement would continue to champion people oriented programmes and community based interventions aimed at improving the wellbeing and quality of life of citizens across Oyo State.

The medical outreach forms part of ongoing effort by the City Boy Movement to complement government initiatives in improving access to quality healthcare, particularly for underserved communities.

Over 1,500 residents who participated expressed appreciation to the organisers, noting that the programme not only enhanced awareness of personal health but also encouraged early detection and treatment of medical conditions.

The outreach further underscores the commitment of the City Boy Movement to advancing community welfare through impactful health and social intervention programmes across the country.
