Convener of the Ogun State Progressives New Media Summit and Special Assistant on New Media to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI, Omooba Damilare Oloyede, has expressed profound appreciation to stakeholders, political leaders, media professionals and participants who contributed to the success of the maiden Ogun State Progressives New Media Summit.

InsideOut Media Hub exclusively reported earlier that the summit, held on August 6, 2026, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, brought together political communicators, new media practitioners, party stakeholders and supporters of the progressive movement to discuss the strategic role of digital communication ahead of the 2027 elections.

Reflecting on the event, Oloyede disclosed that the summit was conceived only two weeks before its actualisation, leaving the planning team with just 11 days to turn the idea into reality.

He attributed the success of the programme to the support and approval of his principal, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI, whom he described as his principal, mentor and the incoming Governor of Ogun State.

According to him, the more than 100 member Yayi New Media Team also played a significant role in supporting the initiative from its inception.

Oloyede further acknowledged the financial and moral contributions of several political leaders, APC House of Assembly candidates, professionals and other stakeholders whose support helped make the summit possible.

He commended the resource persons and panelists for delivering insightful presentations on the importance of new media, political communication, responsible social media engagement, legal implications of online activities and the achievements of the current Ogun State administration.

Among those who contributed to the intellectual sessions were Olootu Bolaji Adeniji, Hon. Ifekayode Akinbode, Hon. Adebayo Adekoya and Otunba Dare Odufowokan.

He also appreciated the panelists and moderators, including Hon. Naphew Abimbola, Comrade Olugbenga Nuberu, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, SF Emmanuel Ojo and Pastor Julius Babatunde Oyedokun.

Oloyede particularly praised Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi for his musical performance and passionate call for unity and inclusion, describing the moment as one that demonstrated that politics must also have a human and emotional dimension.

He also acknowledged the presence of political leaders and government officials, including the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, and the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka.

The convener commended the planning committee led by Prince Adedapo David Oluwadamilare for its dedication, as well as other members of the committee and the Communiqué Committee led by Elder Olusola Ojekunle.

He said the summit demonstrated that young people, when given the opportunity and responsibility, could deliver excellence and play a critical role in shaping political communication.

Oloyede noted that one of the major outcomes of the summit was the adoption of a seven point communiqué which reaffirmed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI, for Governor of Ogun State in 2027, and called for greater unity and inclusiveness within the progressive political family.

Beyond the communiqué, he said the summit created an opportunity for people who had interacted mainly through social media to meet physically, build relationships and strengthen political unity.

He described the gathering as a significant step towards bridging the gap between online political engagement and real world collaboration ahead of the 2027 elections.

Oloyede also apologised to participants over the absence of the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Salako, who was scheduled to deliver the final lecture but could not attend due to pressing national engagements.

He expressed optimism that the summit would become an annual platform for strengthening political communication and youth participation in Ogun State.

Oloyede concluded by expressing confidence that when the progressive family gathers again in 2027, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI, would have emerged as the Executive Governor of Ogun State.

“United by Purpose. Driven by Progress,” he declared.
