Oyo’s New Federal Character Commissioner Aleshinloye Pledges Zero Tolerance for Marginalization in Federal Appointments
This news outlet InsideOut Media Hub can report that the freshly inaugurated Federal Character Commissioner representing Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye, has declared an uncompromising stance against inequitable representation in federal appointments, recruitment, and infrastructure distribution, vowing to hold all federal ministries, departments, and agencies accountable to constitutional standards of fairness.
Speaking at a press conference in Ibadan marking his formal resumption of duties, attended by state directors, APC party chieftains from Oluyole Local Government, Commission staff, and members of the media, Aleshinloye signalled that his tenure would be defined by active enforcement rather than passive oversight.

“No section of the country should feel marginalized,” he declared, reaffirming the Commission’s mandate under the 1999 Constitution to ensure balanced representation across all states and ethnic groups in public service and resource distribution.

Aleshinloye, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noted that the Federal Character Commission, reconstituted on January 22, 2026, under Executive Chairman Hon. Ayo Hulayat Omidiran, had already intensified monitoring and compliance efforts across federal institutions. He stressed that the Commission’s reach extended beyond employment to cover infrastructure deployment, policy implementation, and access to national resources at all three tiers of government.
Turning specifically to Oyo State residents, the Commissioner offered a direct assurance: “Their interests and concerns remain well represented at the Commission. We are committed to ensuring that the state receives its fair share in federal opportunities.”

He also addressed Commission staff directly, framing his first meeting with them as the launch of a “renewed partnership,” urging professionalism, transparency, and commitment as non negotiable standards going forward.

Addressing systemic inequities is never simple, but prioritizing fairness in federal appointments is a meaningful step forward. Success will likely depend on transparent monitoring and continued accountability from all agencies involved. It’s encouraging to see leadership openly commit to these principles.
