The air of celebration is thick across Nigeria as political associates, friends, and admirers felicitate with Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin (OFR), the Agba-Akin Olubadan of Ibadanland, on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.
In a statement personally signed and made available to insideoutmediahub.com, Y.S.O. Olaniyi, Special Adviser to the celebrant on Media, Communication and Publicity, extended heartfelt congratulations to the distinguished leader, describing him as a political icon whose influence continues to shape Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
Olaniyi noted that the outpouring of goodwill messages reflects Senator Folarin’s enduring legacy as a statesman of immense substance and a symbol of purposeful leadership.
Senator Folarin’s illustrious career in the National Assembly, spanning multiple terms, stands as a testament to his political acumen and commitment to service. Representing the Oyo Central Senatorial District, he remains the only legislator in Oyo State’s history to have served two non-consecutive terms in the Senate; first between 2003 and 2011, and later from 2019 to 2023.
Notably, during the 6th National Assembly, he held the powerful position of Senate Leader, where he played a key role in advancing national legislative priorities. A graduate of Political Science from the University of Ibadan, with further studies at Harvard University, Senator Folarin has long been celebrated for his blend of intellect, foresight, and pragmatism.
His legislative record includes spearheading debates on critical Executive Bills and sponsoring landmark private bills such as the Insurance Act and the Armed Forces Pension Act. In the 9th Senate, he chaired the Senate Committee on Local Content, further cementing his contribution to Nigeria’s economic growth and local industry empowerment.
Beyond politics, Senator Folarin’s humility, compassion, and people-centered philosophy have endeared him to many. His belief in uplifting others, encouraging the struggling to rise and the successful to excel has made him a bridge-builder and mentor to countless individuals.
As he marks his 62nd birthday, Y.S.O. Olaniyi prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the Agba-Akin Olubadan, noting that his dedication to good governance, equity, and the rule of law remains unwavering. “May Almighty ALLAH continue to bless Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin with divine love, mercy, protection, joy, and enduring success,” Olaniyi concluded.
