Recently, the Nigerian Union of Tailors (NUT), Oyo State chapter, expressed profound gratitude to the Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Yunus Abiodun Akintunde, for his commitment to human capital development and empowerment.
Leading a delegation of NUT executives from across local governments in the state, the President of the Union, Prince Rasheed Oyetunde, paid a courtesy visit to the senator to convey their appreciation.
In a letter jointly signed by the union leadership, the tailors commended Senator Akintunde for the successful empowerment programme held in the past, where hundreds of fashion designers benefited from cash empowerment and modern sewing machine sets. According to them, the gesture has greatly boosted their businesses and contributed to the growth of the fashion industry in Oyo State.
The union further lauded the senator for organizing simultaneous training sessions across Ibadan, Oyo, and Ogbomoso zones, which provided beneficiaries with hands-on learning experiences to sharpen their skills and expand their knowledge base.
They offered prayers for God’s continued blessings and enablement for Senator Akintunde to fulfill his present mandate and future ambitions.
In his remarks, Senator Akintunde reiterated his commitment to expanding opportunities for human capital development across all sectors, assuring that more empowerment initiatives are underway.
Also present at the event were Hon. Lafi Akinmoyede, Member representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, the APC Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Oyebamiji Joshua, as well as the APC party chairmen from Oluyole and Lagelu LGAs. They all commended Senator Akintunde for his visionary leadership and impactful programmes.
