The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Leadership has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his recent state visit to the United Kingdom, describing it as a historic milestone with far-reaching implications for Nigeria’s global relevance and economic growth.
In a statement signed by the State Youth Leader, Olalekan Glory, the group noted that the visit, the first of its kind by a Nigerian President since 1989, represents a strategic shift in Nigeria’s international engagement beyond mere diplomatic symbolism.
The youth leadership highlighted that the high-level meetings between Nigerian and British officials are expected to strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and United Kingdom, particularly across key sectors such as trade, investment, defence, education, and cultural exchange.

According to the statement, the outcomes of the visit include progress on new trade agreements, fresh investment commitments, and expanded frameworks for cooperation, all of which are projected to stimulate economic growth, generate employment, and support enterprise development, especially among young Nigerians.
The group also emphasized that enhanced collaboration in security and intelligence sharing would significantly improve Nigeria’s capacity to combat terrorism, banditry, and other threats to national stability.
Commending the President’s engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora, the APC youth wing described the move as a clear indication of the administration’s resolve to leverage global Nigerian talent and resources for national development.
They further stated that the visit has helped to reposition Nigeria’s image internationally as a reform-driven and resilient nation ready to reclaim its place on the global stage.
Reaffirming their support for the Tinubu administration, the Oyo APC Youth Leadership pledged continued efforts to mobilize young people towards ensuring that the benefits of such international engagements are felt at the grassroots level.
